Before I share with you my collection of really good online tools that are sure to help you to work remotely, I need to bring to your attention one more point about self management and specifically to do with maintaining your focus and powers of concentration
I’ve uncovered and confirmed a consistent trait in friends who work online and I’ve known for quite a long time and I call this behavior the 50 min rule. I observed these acquaintances who apply themselves and work for 50 minutes and then take a complete ten minute break and are much more productive and generate a significantly better quality of work than people who don’t have similar working methods.
OK as promised I present you with my list of favourite remote working software:
Electronic Mail
Google Mail has a price tag of zero. In my experience the search & label (categories) features are most definitely the best I have so far discovered. So far the only gripe I have is that it runs a bit slow on not so new PC’s
Phone calls
Skype used to drive me crazy as the call performance was down right horrible, but three cheers for the engineers at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For few dollars a quarter ! can call and conference in any handset and Skype subscriber on the planet. The latest version of Skype has an abundance of very useful functions and there constantly expanding collection of practical add on applications.
Organising Content
Evernote has connected more than a million users in no time at all – it enables you to store, organise and annotate any type of digital content up on the Internet. Just go check it out…it’s free.
Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM
You almost certainly know that my desire to work remotely was originally motivated by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software system. But it simply doesn’t even come close to the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a fork I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
Remote Working Part 1 – The Rough Guide – Summary
Obviously not everybody is able to work remotely as many types of employment require employees to consistently attend their place of work or travel to undertake their work face to face. But for those of us who are allowed to work remotely then I thought it would be useful to share my experiences and share some practical wisdom by writing and publishing it on the Internet in the hope that I could give others valuable shortcuts for adapting to remote working or supervising remote workers.
I can tell you that there are groups of self proclaimed ‘gurus’ online who will try and persuade you to purchase information for significant sums of money, take my word for it you don’t need to do this.
I am privileged to be allowed to work wherever I choose and just about everyone who asks me what work I do wants to learn how I am able to work remotely. Don’t get the wrong idea I am still refining the science of remote working as each day I bump into persons online who teach me new tricks and I am repeatedly uncovering new packages and methods that make my life easier and improve my productivity.
During the past seven years I have significantly adapted my working processes to let me to do all of my work remotely with a selection of web tools and solid self discipline. One early morning whilst searching the Internet I found Quickbooks online and this opened my eyes to what just might be possible. My discovery of ’cloud’ based ‘on demand’ small business accounting software was the turning point for me and the start of my ‘remote working life.
I want to tell you up front that successfully working remotely is as much about the systems as it is about self management. Working remotely also means informing your co-workers, managers and clients as to what they can expect and how they will stay in touch with you.

Es gibt ein ganz großes Geheimnis für Motivation. Das ist es, was sich alle erfolgreichen Menschen zu nutze machen. Vielleicht hast Du Dich auch schon mal gefragt: Wo bekomme ich bloss die Motivation dafür her?! Oder: Wie kann ich das auch machen: Einfach meine Ziele erreichen?! Wo nehmen sie die Motivation her, so lange durchzuhalten?!
Denn das “Durchhalten” ist einer der ganz großen Faktoren für Erfolg. Nur wenn Du wirklich dranbleiben kannst – auch wenn es schwierig wird, wenn Du Dich motiverien kannst – auch wenn Du grade überhaupt keine Lust hast, dann hast Du wirklich die Chance auch Deine großen Ziele zu erreichen. Wie machen erfolgreiche Menschen, Spitzensportler, Entrepreneure, Forscher, Menschen von Greenpeace – wie machen die das, dass sie Ihre Motivation behalten?! Auch wenn Ihnen noch so viel Gegenwind entgegenbläst.
Das Motivations Geheimnis dieser Menschen ist Ihre Vision. Jeder wirklich erfolgreiche Mensch trägt eine Vision in sich. Etwas, eine Idee oder ein Traum, den dieser Mensch auf jeden Fall in die Realität bringen will. Weil er daran glaubt. Weil er ein tieferes, sicheres Gefühl hat, dass es wichtig und gut ist, was er tut. Diese Vision, die so viel Kraft und Motivation schenkt, kann bei jedem Menschen anders aussehen. Jeder hat seine ganz eigene Vision. Seinen eigenen tieferen Sinn, warum er hier auf der Erde ist. Diese Vision kann sein, eine Goldmedaille zu erreichen, das Meer von Verschmutzern zu befreien, ein glücklicheres und freieres Leben für viele Menschen zu schaffen, einen Stoff zu entdecken, mit dem es möglich ist, Energie umweltschonend zu produzieren… jeder Mensch hat seine persönliche Vision. Einen ganz eigenen tiefen Grund, der ihn antreibt. Sein ganz eigenes Bild, das ihm Kraft und Motivation verleiht, auch wenn es mal schwierig ist.
Wirkliche Motivation kommt immer von Innen. Große Menschen suchen Ihre Motivation nicht in anderen Dingen, sondern in sich selbst. Sie wollen etwas schaffen, etwas kreiern, etwas bewegen auf dieser Welt. Das ist es, was große Menschen antreibt und Ihnen Motivation schenkt – auch wenn die Umstände noch so widrig sind.
Deswegen frage Dich: Was ist meine Vision? Was ist mein Traum? Was genau ist es, dass ich so gern mit den Menschen teilen möchte? Was ist mein ganz eigener Beitrag an diese Welt? Wenn Du das für Dich heruasfinden kannst, und das tust, dann wirst Du immer genügend Motivation haben, um alles zu tun, was notwendig ist.

Attempts and failures bring you nearer to success!
These days everyone is engrossed with his or her work in an expectation to earn livelihood and earning. The extent of desire within the people has rose to such a limit that they have forgotten the major aim of life, the same being happiness. In the vague of victory and hunger for name and fame, people are forgetting to laugh, they are forgetting to enjoy and they are even forgetting how to live life. The aspiration in them is gradually taking the shape of aggression, which is not at all a good signal. This aggression is ruining youngsters and is making them more susceptible to frustration and even despair in severe cases. The extent of frustration is rising within them day by day. The only reason for this is that they all expect a lot. Accordingly they work really very hard to attain their goals and ambitions. If their aspiration is fulfilled, its well and good, else their disturbance ruins them. But it is actually adviced to all the youngsters and even the middle aged that they should keep in mind that success doesn’t comes without failure. Also, even failure teaches you many things. Nothing goes in vain, not even a single effort. Life doesn’t ends after failure, there is always a next time. Attempts and failures take you nearer to success. This attitude if followed by everyone, earth would be a wonderful place to live in. Also, one should never be occupied in loads of work that restrain you from locating time for yourself. As can be seen through our legendary professionals, getting involved in too much of work makes life miserable. This is because you don’t find time for yourself. The day you start outlooking yourself, your life will turn miserable. To live a qualitative and beautiful life should be prioritized over all works.
Have More Motivation to Quit Smoking…
It has long been suspected that smoking and gum disease are interrelated. Thanks to recent studies, that link has been proven. We have all long known that smoking is dangerous to your health. It can cause heart disease, including heart attacks. It may lead to strokes and aneurysm. Naturally it could lead to lung and throat cancer, not to mention many others. Your breath smells, your teeth get stained, and respiratory problems and infections are practically a given. As it turns out, smoking can negatively affect your oral health as well.
Smoking is one of the big risk factors associated with gum disease. This because smoking practically opens up the door for bacteria to flock into your mouth. Bacteria is what ultimately causes gingival diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis. However, that is not the only reason smoking can lead to gum disease.
Both the smoke which comes from the tobacco and the nicotine in cigarettes can make your blood vessels constrict. That makes it harder and difficult for nutrients and oxygen to get to parts of your body – including your gums and gum tissue.
Smoking is not the only thing which causes this to happen. Chewing tobacco can as well. Further, they can both make it more difficult for your body to adequately fight off infections. Meaning, it cannot repel the infection which causes gingivitis. If you are a smoker, it may even be more difficult for your body to respond to the proper treatment methods for gm disease.
How can you, as a smoker, decrease your risk for gum disease? Well, naturally, you have got to stop smoking. Think of all the aspects of your health smoking will negatively affect? You also need to do your part by rigorously taking care of your teeth. Brushing, flossing, and regular checkups are absolutely necessary.

Vielleicht hast Du Dich auch schon mal gefragt: Gibt es einen schnellen Weg zur Motivation? Wie kann ich mich ohne grossen Aufwand motivieren? Und wie kann ich mich schnell wieder besser fühlen?
Das Geheimnis, wie Du schnell wieder Motivation haben kannst, liegt in den Fragen, die Du Dir stellst. Denn vom Leben bekommst Du immer die Antworten, die zu Deinen Fragen passen. Das ist das Geheimnis für schnelle Motivation!
Dazu ein kleines Beispiel: Wenn Du Dich zum Beispiel fragst: Oh, mein Gott, warum kann ich das nur nicht? Wieso versage ich immer wieder? Wieso hab ich bloss nicht? Dann kommen aus Deinem Kopf wahrscheinlich ziemlich schnell die Antworten: Weil Du es nicht kannst – weil Du zu doof bist – und ähnlich wenig hilfreiches Zeug… das Ergebnis? Deine Motivation ist gleich null… denn wenn Du Dich so klein fühlst, dann hast Du auch keine Motivation irgendetwas zu tun… Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich solche Fragen “dämliche Fragen” nenne…
Doch was ist, wenn Du Dir andere Fragen stellst? Wie ist dann um Deine Motivation bestellt?! Stell Dir mal vor, Du stellst Dir folgende Frage: Hey, was wird mir heute wohl noch alles wundervolles passieren? Oder: Was für wunderschöne und nette Begegnungen werde ich heute noch haben? Oder: Wie viel Erfolg werde ich heute im Laufe des Tages haben? Fühlst Du, was mit Deiner Motivation passiert?!
Sie geht steil nach oben. Und wenn Du mal an einem Problem festhängst, dann kannst Du folgende Fragen nutzen, um Deine Motivation wieder zu steigern:
Was kann ich selbst tun, damit dieses Problem schnell aus der Welt geschaffen wird?
Welche Ressourcen habe ich in mir, um dieses Problem zu lösen?
Wer kann mir dabei helfen?
Wie habe ich solche Probleme in der Vergangenheit schon gelöst?
Und besteht nicht auch eine große Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass ich es dieses mal auch schaffe, das Problem zu lösen?!
Du merkst, diese Fragen tun etwas ganz anderes für Deine Motivation! Daher macht es einen grossen Unterschied, wenn Du Dir die richtigen Fragen stellst! Also keine dämlichen Fragen, die Dich runterziehen, sondern Fragen, die Dich mit Zuversicht und Kraft erfüllen – und Dich der Lösung näher bringen!
Dann hast Du auch die Motivation jedes Problem anzugehen! Yippieh!

Motivation. We all know it’s a good thing to have. It can help us tackle hard jobs and work til completion. It can take dreams and make them start to happen. Or, its lack can leave us filled with abandoned projects and half started desires. You can get more Wisdom Thoughts here.

There are only two kinds of motivation when you get right down to it. Only two ways to motivate yourself that make a difference. Positive and negative.
We all know about negative motivation. If you don’t take out the trash, it will start to smell. So we take out the trash to avoid the negative consequence of a smelly house. If we don’t go to work we’ll lose our job, and then we can’t pay the rent and then we are homeless. The negative consequences motivate us to go to work. That is negative motivation. We were raised with it. It is the threat of something bad happening to us that gets us to act. There is nothing wrong with negative motivation. It can help us give up smoking. Picturing clearly the lung damage we get from every cigarette can negatively motivate us to curb our intake. However, negative motivation is de-energizing. Sure, we’ll go to work, but we’ll drag ourselves in and be miserable.
Positive motivation, on the other hand, is very energizing. Normally you may not like getting up at 5AM. You may grumble and moan all the way to work. But if you are getting up at 4AM one day to catch a flight to Hawaii, you may literally hop out of bed singing a happy tune. The positive result of being in Hawaii motivates you with enthusiasm and excitement. Positive motivation is a great way to do things with with zest and energy.
The thing is, you can start to practice being positively motivated as much as you want in life. Just think of the positive result you are after from an exercise program for a few minutes. Then see if that doesn’t start filling you with the desire to get started.
The key to motivation is to take action. Positive motivation can start filling you with some enthusiasm and energy to get things done. Focus on the positive outcomes you want or the fun things that go with any job and see if it doesn’t start making you feel more excited to get things done. You can get more Self Help Pointers here.

The Origin of Your Reality
As you read this your brain is being flooded with more information than your conscious mind could ever handle. As it turns out, you don’t have to – your pre-conscious mind has mental filters that limit what actually gets through to your conscious brain.
At any given moment, your brain is receiving hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of bits of information through a lot sensory inputs. Most are evaluated and acted upon automatically.
The nerves in your body fire continuously. But not all of the messages are relayed to your conscious awareness.you can focus your attention on any given part of your body, say the your right knee, and get information on how it feels. However until you focus your awareness on it you probably were not conscious at all of the messages your nerves were sending.
That type of mental filtering goes on continually, affecting all aspects of your life and your perception of reality.
Here’s an example of how these mental filters can determine the reality we perceive. Several years ago, I drove a silver Toyota. I don’t have that car anymore, but I always notice ones that are just like it while I’m driving.
All the others cars on the road fade into the general category of “cars” but the preconscious mind continually screens the incoming information for something that might be important to me. When it sees a car like my old Intrepid, it brings it to my attention.
It’s clear that our mental filters determine what we’re able to perceive in the world around us.
Can someone else may be driving down the same road I am noticing blue Fords well I only see silver Camrys of a specific year. They’re both there, but what each of us sees is determined by our filters.
This makes it pretty clear that the quality and type of a person’s mental filters are a big determinant in the quality of their life.
Most people live life by default. That is they don’t make any conscious effort to control their mindset, their mental filters. They allow them to develop haphazardly.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Assume responsibility for your mental filters and change them to help you live your best possible life.
